无论你是不是他的乐迷，只要哪儿还存在音乐，你就避不开民谣摇滚诗人、画家、殿堂级人物鲍勃·迪伦的名字。然而，我们或许知道他是音乐传奇，甚至知道他是流行符号，却仍旧对他十分陌生—他所代表的那个时代离中国太远了，但承载的意义又似乎相通。而这一次，答案将“在中国飘”。
时光荏苒，在不少乐迷心中带着三分迷狂七分颓丧的坏小子迪伦，来到中国之时已届古稀之年。而当70岁高龄的迪伦踏上中国这个舞台时，这位老者对舞台下的不少人而言，却无异于一个婴孩。因为我们发现，自己对迪伦还很陌生。
对多数国人而言，鲍勃·迪伦是一个近乎完美的音乐传奇，更是一个流行文化符号。然而，作为肉体凡胎的鲍勃·迪伦有着怎样的个性？他的音乐人生如何精彩跌宕？他的声音又是如何影响了一代人？我们对这一系列问题的答案，并不了解。
一场拯救了乐坛的车祸
让我们先从一场车祸开始。那是1966年7月29日一个风光明媚的下午，鲍勃·迪伦在伍德斯托克的乡间驾驶着他的Triumph 500重型摩托车急速前行。突然，摩托车的后轮被卡死，车子向前方弹了出去，在翻滚了好几圈之后才倒在公路旁边。鲍勃·迪伦整个人被摩托车抛射出去，脑袋着地，当场不省人事。右图：迪伦在录音室
而当鲍勃·迪伦再次醒来的时候，他已经躺在了医院的病床上。经过医生的检查，他脖子多处骨头骨折，可以说，迪伦在这场本应车毁人亡的交通事故中，居然只是受伤，而没有就此被死神带走，是一件颇为幸运的事。如果人们翻看鲍勃·迪伦的传记，会发现，迪伦自己也把这场车祸视作他人生当中受幸运女神眷顾的一件事。“很幸运的是，我经历了一场摩托车事故，但又奇迹般地康复了。而事实的真相是，我其实很希望借此从那些无谓的竞争中解脱出来。”鲍勃·迪伦曾经这样对自己的传记作者说。
鲍勃·迪伦所谓的“那些无谓的竞争”是什么？据传记作家们的解释，这其实是指当时迪伦频繁的公众亮相和密集的商业演出，这二者的交替摧残已经让鲍勃·迪伦从肉体到精神濒临崩溃的边缘。
当时，迪伦结束了在欧洲令人疲惫的巡回演出，返回了美国纽约，但是，各方面施加给他的压力，丝毫没有减少，反而有增加的趋势。ABC电视台正在催促他进行一个电视节目的录制，他的出版商麦克米兰，正在没日没夜地给他打电话，要迪伦赶紧完成他的诗歌与小说的手稿，而他的经纪人阿尔伯特·格罗斯曼，已经为迪伦在整个夏天和秋天的商业巡演，排好了密不透风的行程单，在3个月的时间内居然要演出64场。
而鲍勃·迪伦在工作的重压之下，长时间饮用大量咖啡，以便在夜里能保持旺盛的创作能力，而在白天，他则需要服用安非他命之类的违禁药物让自己保持高度的兴奋状态，以保证演出的精彩。长此以往，鲍勃·迪伦的身体被推向了极限，精神几近崩溃。于是，在1966年7月那场车祸以后，迪伦痛定思痛，决定暂时告别乐坛一段时间，随即他便销声匿迹了十几个月，以至于当时有人怀疑迪伦是否已经去世。右图：迪伦的一把吉他加口琴是他独特的演唱风
但如果不是这场“及时出现”的车祸，鲍勃·迪伦或许真的就会在1966年撒手人寰，没有机会谱写他日后为乐坛创造的神话。台湾著名乐评人马世芳在写及这段历史时，用了如下的文字：“长期摧残之下，他的身体几近报废，随时可能崩溃。迪伦身边的朋友私下都有预感：他刚过完的25岁生日，多半就是‘最后一届’了。”所幸，一场车祸，为我们从绞肉机一般的商业演出中“抢救”出了鲍勃·迪伦。
在因为车祸而告别乐坛19个月之后，鲍勃·迪伦重新回到了录音室，这次与死神的擦肩而过，让迪伦有了喘息的机会，当他再次
“回归”，人们发现，此时的鲍勃·迪伦已经全身充满能量，他已经准备好把自己理解的音乐和生命，以自己独特的方式，一道带给人们。
马世芳在向《周末画报》回忆自己所听到的那个充满震撼力的鲍勃·迪伦时，说道：“最早听到应该是1970年代，我还在念小学吧，母亲肯定在家里放过，但我不记得了。自己记得的是16岁时听的1971年救援孟加拉国义演（Concert For Bangladesh），配着余光中先生叙述这场演唱会的文章《苦雨就要降下》。当时听到迪伦登上舞台时全场疯狂的欢呼与掌声，非常震撼。”右图：上世纪60年代，迪伦与当红的歌手雪儿（左）合作
不仅仅是马世芳，包括内地的著名乐评人郝舫、张晓舟、孙孟晋等人在接受《周末画报》的采访时，都不约而同地感到，迪伦的歌声极具生命力。或许，他歌声中对生命的歌颂和对这个世界的冷眼旁观，皆与那场车祸有着或明或暗的联系。毕竟，在那场车祸后，迪伦继续写歌，并且最终迎来了个人音乐事业的辉煌。从1966年车祸至今，迪伦总共发行了27张录音室专辑和13张现场专辑。他所获的奖项更是无人能出其右：格莱美奖、摇滚名人堂(1988)、学院奖、金球奖甚至还有普利策奖。
传播才刚刚开始
面对这个光环熠熠、极具感召力的音乐巨星鲍勃·迪伦，我们可以在他名字前加上很多前缀：诗人、思想家、画家、歌手……他的各类头衔堆积如山，反而让普通人难以从中寻觅到那个原本的民谣歌手鲍勃·迪伦。哦，不对，我们不应该叫他鲍勃·迪伦，一开始，这位年轻人尚使用着罗伯特·艾伦·齐默尔曼（Robert Allan Zimmerman）的本名。
少年时期的齐默尔曼只不过是一个喜爱音乐的平凡男孩，对乡村民谣有着浓厚的兴趣，他对于音乐的炽烈感情直到14岁时才被激发。那一年，他在戏院里看到了电影《黑板丛林》，其中的热血故事，尤其是大胆启用摇滚歌曲《Rock Around The Rock》作为配乐激发了鲍勃·迪伦的音乐灵感。从此，他发现了音乐的社会学效应。摇流乐的歌词使人振奋，可以完全展现人们的叛逆、孤独与思考。在以后的音乐创作当中，鲍勃·迪伦贯彻着此时接受的摇滚乐“初级教育”。
而他也开始形成了他独特的唱功：一个人、一把吉他外加一只口琴，就是他的全部家当。在自弹自唱的从容中，人们总能辨认出他沙质般的嗓音：有些喑哑，甚至不时会稍稍跑调。《纽约时报》的艺术评论人罗伯特·谢尔顿认为迪伦的声音是一种“生锈的”歌声，但却从中回响着时代上那些伟大的声音。右图：1988年，迪伦在美国加州展开了一场名为Never Ending Tour的巡回演唱会
著名乐评人郝舫在谈到鲍勃·迪伦对后世的影响时，说道：“他为什么可以脱颖而出？不仅仅是因为他的歌词。当然他的歌词对文艺青年的影响很大，对那个时代的反映很独特。对于整个美国民谣音乐的发展，没有迪伦，就没有后来整个民谣运动的另一种局面。”
但这些影响在那个时候却没能来到中国，正如乐评人张晓舟指出的那样，（中国和他）中间有一个巨大的时间差，一个错位。一直到1980年代末1990年代初，迪伦才传播到中国。而中国最早一代的摇滚音乐人，如崔健，或者更年轻一点的音乐人，对迪伦的了解都非常有限：“迪伦谈不上对中国的乐坛、乐迷有多大的影响。他更多的是提供某种精神的感召力或者说符号的意义。比如1992年~1994年，打口把整个西方摇滚音乐史一下子带进中国，几十年浓缩成几年全涌了进来，搞得我们狼吞虎咽囫囵吞枣，有很多好东西都消化不良，或者根本就吃不进去。”
在这个层面来说，中国与世界脱节了，但这并不妨碍迪伦在中国的传播。正如张晓舟所说的那样：“尽管他已经70岁了，但对中国来讲，他甚至是年轻的、陌生的，所以他来中国开演唱会正是他在中国传播的真正开始。一开始，符号意义一定大于音乐意义。但是从符号开始，大家会恶补，等他走后，重新开始认识他，这是一个非常好的契机。”
与中国“四目相对”

那个时候，鲍勃·迪伦创作并演唱了大量“抗议歌曲”。其中，《暴雨将至》、《战神》奠定了迪伦作为美国上世纪60年代初“民歌复兴运动”旗手的地位，那首最著名的《答案在风中飘扬》则被誉为黑人“民权运动”的圣歌。这首歌的意象清晰无比，听者都心照不宣，知道迪伦在认真质问“还要多久，某些人才能获得自由”时，他指的是美国的种族不平等。而《时代的变迁》更是以其激进的“反主流文化”倾向，使迪伦一跃成为新一代文化的代言人。
但仅仅把鲍勃·迪伦作为一名表达“抗议”的歌者，甚至是一名反战先锋加以聆听，显然是一种误区。对此，郝舫认为：“他（迪伦）本人最反感别人认为他有社会价值、文化价值、政治价值。他是歌手。我记得在他的传记里，迪伦说过：你们上街游行，爱干吗干吗去，我是有家有口的人，我不爱参与。”
对此，张晓舟也有同感：“像迪伦，由于浑身上下都被贴满了标签，他肯定是反感透顶的。他的自传，以及他在一些访谈里的言论，都一直在撕这些标签。”
那么，在撕下标签以后，鲍勃·迪伦留给世人的又是什么呢？在接受《周末画报》的访问时，多位内地乐评人都认为，迪伦对于中国音乐的直接影响，并不明显，他的真正影响力，在于更为普遍的音乐理念和深度方面。
张晓舟认为，音乐的社会意义和文化价值必须由灵魂深度和美学语言说了算，因此，“迪伦的强度和长度都比较厉害，半个世纪都被他辐射到了”。但同时，他也认为，作为艺术家，迪伦“不一定要在艺术上体现，表达自己的观点。艺术家不是投票机器，就这么简单”。
或许，这可以解释为什么鲍勃·迪伦对媒体的态度多是“不合作”。据孙孟晋介绍，鲍勃·迪伦开演唱会时曾请了他的父母来。然后有媒体套了一些他父母的话刊登出来。迪伦知道后大怒，从此不再让他的任何亲人接受采访，并开始挖苦媒体，或是总是给媒体一些和他生活大相径庭的回答。但从根本上说，是因为他认为“艺术家没有义务非要去做这些”， 张晓舟如是说。
一个面对媒体如此“不信任”的鲍勃·迪伦，他来到中国之后，又将如何面对中国这个陌生的国度？
乐评人孙孟晋一次与迪伦“相遇”的经历，聊可作为这个问题的参考答案。当时在鲍勃·迪伦爱尔兰的演出现场，作为观众的孙孟晋曾在台下喊过一句：“Bob Dylan, I love you.”在中间过场的时候，迪伦回头看了他一眼，而他正好也看着迪伦。
但在鲍勃·迪伦与中国观众的“四目相对”的那一刻，谁理解谁更多一些，却是一个颇堪玩味的问题。或许，鲍勃·迪伦和今天的中国之间，更需要的是一种彼此的调适和相互理解。
